March 24, 2026 Hexa Energy Services G.K. **Completion Ceremony Held for Japan’s First Operational Long-Term Decarbonization Power Auction BESS Project — Tagawa BESS**



HEXA Energy Services G.K. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Executive Officer: Yuko Shah; hereinafter “the Company”) held the completion ceremony for its first grid-scale battery energy storage project, the Tagawa Battery Energy Storage System (hereinafter “the Facility”), on March 24, 2026, in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
The Facility is equipped with 29,970 kW of output and 130,390 kWh of rated capacity, and is the first special high-voltage grid-connected battery storage project in Japan to commence operation among the winners of the FY2023 Long-Term Decarbonization Power Auction, administered by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Organization for Cross-regional Coordination of Transmission Operators (OCCTO).
Overview of the Completion Ceremony
During the ceremony, the Company’s representatives delivered remarks, guest companies were introduced and invited to speak, and a ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the facility exterior were conducted—celebrating the completion of the project while reaffirming our commitment to its safe and stable operation. Stakeholders including the project operator, construction partners, and other related parties attended the ceremony as guests. Attendees were provided with an overview of the Facility and shown its exterior, along with an explanation of how the project will contribute to addressing renewable energy curtailment and supply–demand balancing challenges in the Kyushu region.

Future Outlook
The Company has begun construction sequentially on projects awarded under the FY2023 Long-Term Decarbonization Power Auction, including those in Hokkaido and Mie Prefecture. The Tagawa Battery Energy Storage System serves as the first of these projects, leading the way, and the Company will continue to work steadily toward the successful completion of the remaining awarded projects.
