HEXA Renewables Japan Signs Virtual PPA with Dentsu Group Long-term supply of environmental value from newly developed solar power plants

HEXA Energy Services G.K. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Executive Managers: Yuko Shah and Yoichiro Mizuta; “HEXA” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that its group company, HEXA Renewables Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Chenhua Shen; “HEXA Renewables Japan”), entered into a virtual power purchase agreement (“Virtual PPA”) with Dentsu Group Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Executive Officer, President and Global CEO: Takeshi Sano; “Dentsu Group”) on May 18, 2026.

A Virtual PPA is an agreement under which a company purchases the environmental value generated by renewable energy facilities over the long term. This enables companies to expand their use of renewable energy while supporting the development of new generation facilities.

Through investments in Japan’s energy infrastructure, HEXA develops renewable energy and grid-scale battery energy storage businesses. HEXA Renewables Japan provides electricity and environmental value tailored to the decarbonization needs of corporate customers.

The Virtual PPA covers newly developed generation facilities and therefore provides additionality by supporting the deployment of new renewable energy capacity. HEXA Renewables Japan expects to supply approximately 1 million kWh of environmental value annually. The environmental value under the Virtual PPA is expected to be supplied to Dentsu Group locations in Japan.

As a member of the I Squared Capital group, which operates infrastructure businesses in more than 70 countries, HEXA draws on global knowledge and experience to provide solutions tailored to Japan’s energy challenges. Through its renewable energy and grid-scale battery energy storage businesses, the Company aims to continue contributing to Japan’s energy transition.
