Hexa Energy Services Highlights Sustainability Initiatives in H1 2025

As we approach the halfway mark of 2025, we’re incredibly proud of the work our team at Hexa has made this year. Two milestones in particular stand out:

- In March, we successfully signed a project financing agreement and fully closed in June for our first-ever battery energy storage system (BESS) in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The 30-megawatt BESS project also earned a capacity contract through Japan’s long-term decarbonization auction, which will help promote grid stability through renewable energy integration.

- In April, we also launched the “Mitsubachi Fellowship”, a program supporting children in foster care in Akita Prefecture through college scholarships, tutoring and online learning programs. With our BESS project underway in Akita, we’re committed to giving back to the local communities we operate in.

And last month, our Executive Manager, Yuko Shah, shared Hexa's progress at an event hosted by I Squared, global infrastructure investor and owner of Hexa. The event featured a fireside chat between I Squared’s founder, chairman and managing partner, Sadek Wahba, and President Clinton. The event brought together investors and policymakers to discuss the future of infrastructure in Japan and beyond – we were honored to take part in it!

We’re excited for what the second half of the year will bring as we continue to contribute to the energy transition efforts in Japan.
