What is the Mitsubachi Fellowship?
The "Mitsubachi Fellowship" is a grant-type scholarship program designed to support the education and learning of children raised in child welfare facilities or foster care.
As the initiators of the "Mitsubachi Fellowship," we sincerely aspire to build a society in which every child can look to the future with hope, at a time when addressing the declining birthrate has become a critical national priority.
In particular, among children living under social care, there are those who are forced to give up pursuing higher education due to financial reasons, and even those who do advance to university often struggle to focus on their studies because of the heavy burden of living expenses.
The "Mitsubachi Fellowship" supports the creation of an environment in which children can study with peace of mind and pursue independence in the future through three core pillars:
- The Mitsubachi Fellowship Scholarship – providing university scholarships and living support.
- Academic Support for Secondary School Students – assisting junior high and high school students aiming to enter university.
- The "Mitsubachi Rocket" Program – offering social experience opportunities designed to broaden perspectives.
The "Mitsubachi Scholarship" Program
Eligibility: Supports one high school senior per year who plans to pursue higher education in the designated field.

Learning Support Program "Mitsubachi Rocket"
Eligibility: Supports junior high and high school students aiming to pursue higher education. Each year, 10 to 15 students are nominated by child welfare facilities or their families.

Local Community Organizations – Roles
- • Publicize and promote the Fellowship to eligible students
- • Support students in their transition to higher education (e.g., arrangements with institutions)
- • Highlight the activities and achievements of Fellows within the local community
- • Maintain contact with social workers
Children living under social care, including:
- • Students from Akita Prefecture who advance to universities or other higher education institutions either within or outside the prefecture (including university students, graduates, former students, and those who have passed professional qualification exams)
- • Students raised in child welfare facilities or foster care
Fellowship Secretariat (Hexa Energy Services) – Roles
- • Operated by staff volunteers
- • Establishment and management of the Secretariat (including administration and fund accounts)
- • Student follow-up and guidance, including expense settlement meetings and annual reporting
- • Funding, coordination of donations, and program review
Partner Companies – Roles
- • Financial commitment
- • Contribution of JPY 1 million per unit
- • Support for site visits and inspections
- • Provision of job opportunities and internships
- • Employment support after graduation
